Heeeeeeelloooooooooo tooooooo Youuuuuuuuu?
This was an old piece I did back in January.
There was this extremely cute video of a slow loris nibbling viralling around facebook and... I just couldn't resist.
Heavily inspired by Bobby Chiu and his crazy creature friends who are just sinfully adorable :)
Art Jam #5 Environment
Environment speedpainting this time!
As you can see, I went with an underwater shot for this one.
Done with reference, and of course, a big no no to colour picking.
I'm happy that I got the mood right, but a little disappointed that I'm not really that great with the detail.
Ah well, more practice it is for me then :)

P.S. Seaweed pillars totally rock! :D
Art Jam #4 Stationery
A slightly odd suggestion from a friend, but I'm guessing you can tell I really had fun with this :P
I found a brilliant reference and I couldn't resist. I loved the concept as well.

No colour picking included!

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do! :)
Art Jam #3 Food
Whoops! So much for keeping up to date, sorry about that!
Anyway, topic this time was obviously... Food!
For some reason, eels popped into my head, so I did a little research on how eels were eaten alive (I really don't know why I thought of this) and came across some uh... Not so pretty sights. *shudders*
People tend to do some crazy things for beauty.
So ever wondered what a GEISHA'S secret was?
Must be the food I'll bet :P

Art Jam #2 Samurai
I wanted to do a dragon badly, but I missed the art jam before this which possessed that very title, so I thought...
Why not have the combo? :D
He's probably fighting off the local yakuza terrorizing his favourite bar.

His blazing blue eyes says it all:
he's not a happy dragon when he's without his sake.
Oh my.
Oh my.

Not happy with your colour?

Art Jam #1 Medieval
This was from my first art jam, done on the 15th of March 2012.
I was really, REALLY not happy with this piece. It was my first try trying to squeeze whatever knowledge I had for mood, environment and feeling into an hour and uhm...

The idea was sort of a Joan of Arc scenario I had in my head, looking over into the sunrise before her battle begins...
Guess it didn't work out too well.

One step at a time, one step at a time.

Hi there!
Just thought it'd be nice to have a little welcoming note to all of you (and perhaps to myself) before I begin posting anything.
I'm quite rough around the edges, so please, critique is very much welcome!
Let the posting... BEGIN!

Debbie Who?
Why, hello there!
The name's Deborah Tan (but I'd rather prefer the calling 'Debbie' if you please), hailing from Malaysia.
An aspiring artist and animator, I currently study in The One Academy.
This blog is to document my never-ending journey as an artist and to personally look back to see how far I've come.
I love feedback, so if you have something to say, don't be shy :)
Thanks for visiting!
